Brown Ferns

Over the last couple of weeks, we have noticed something very telling in Mussoorie. As you can see from the picture below, many of the ferns on the hillside have started to turn brown.

Now this might not seem like a very big deal to those of you back in North America (it certainly wouldn't have meant much to us six weeks ago). We've recently learned from those that have been here a while that brown ferns mean that the monsoons will be over in a couple weeks. So we're nearly through the rainy season.

We just got home from a retreat with the seventh and eighth graders. We didn't get much sleep last night, so we're going to bed early. Hopefully we'll get some fun pictures up tomorrow.
