Like a Good Neighbor

Every week, the middle school students assemble in the dining hall for what is aptly named, "assembly." This is a time where staff speakers and classes either give a little talk or present something. The theme of the semester for assemblies is "Loving Your Neighbor." When it came time for advisor group to do a presentation, we settled on the Tale of Flibber-O-Loo (a Veggie Tales retelling of the story of the good Samaritan).

We served as the narrators of the story. Beth did the basic narration and Dave provided voices for all the characters.

Below, you can see the thieves preparing to pounce on the unsuspecting traveller and the doctor and mayor deciding that they are two busy to help the boy with his head in a hole.
After the skit, we showed a PowerPoint presentation of Woodstock students being neighbors and friends to those around them and it all ended with a big bow.
The kids did a very good job, especially considering how busy things have gotten the past few weeks. We gave them all a bit of candy as a reward for a job well done this morning.
